Four-Station Leather Rubbing Color Fastness Tester

The T271B Four-Station Leather Rubbing Color Fastness Tester is used to evaluate color transfer by determining the degree of color loss from leather surfaces or coatings and the staining of wool felt. During testing, dry or wet white wool felt is mounted on the rubbing head and reciprocally rubbed against the test specimen fixed on the test table. Both dry rubbing and wet rubbing test methods are supported.
The instrument is designed for laboratory-controlled evaluation of leather color fastness to rubbing in accordance with relevant international and national standards.
Applications
(1) Color fastness to rubbing testing of natural leather, artificial leather, and coated leather.
(2) Evaluation of surface dye fixation and coating adhesion performance of leather materials.
(3) Quality control testing for footwear uppers, leather garments, gloves, bags, and accessories.
(4) Testing of leather components used in safety shoes, occupational footwear, and protective footwear.
(5) Comparative testing during leather finishing process development and optimization.
(6) Inspection and certification testing in third-party laboratories and inspection institutions.
(7) Assessment of color transfer risk during dry and wet use conditions.

FAQ
(1) What is the main purpose of this tester?
It is used to evaluate the color fastness of leather and leather coatings by assessing color transfer and staining under dry and wet rubbing conditions.
(2) What materials can be tested?
Natural leather, synthetic leather, coated leather, and leather components used in footwear, garments, and accessories.
(3) What is the difference between dry and wet rubbing tests?
Dry rubbing uses dry wool felt, while wet rubbing uses moistened wool felt to simulate different usage and environmental conditions.
(4) How are test results evaluated?
After a specified number of rubbing cycles, the staining of the wool felt and the color change of the specimen are assessed using a grey scale for staining and color change.
(5) Why use a four-station design?
The four-station configuration allows multiple samples to be tested simultaneously, increasing laboratory efficiency and throughput.
(6) Is the instrument suitable for laboratory certification testing?
Yes, it is designed to meet relevant international and national standards and is suitable for use in third-party testing, inspection, and certification laboratories.
