The flame retardant tester for floor covering fabrics burns the surface of
the sample with standardized flames within a specified time, observing the
degree of combustion, damage or discoloration of the standard test paper, and
then grading and evaluating the test fabric. It is used to test the flame
retardant performance and surface flame spread performance of floor covering
fabrics.

Testing method:
1. Hot metal nut method BS 4790: Stainless steel nuts are heated to 900 ℃
in a muffle furnace, and the test sample is placed in a testing box. The clamp
ring is placed on the sample using a crucible clamp, and the heated nut is
placed in the center of the clamp ring. After 30 seconds, the nut is removed,
and measurements can be taken to evaluate the spread of fire points on the
sample.
2. Polymerization plate method: it is recommended to put the test box in
the laboratory fume hood, place the humidified sample on the movable base in the
test box, place the metal disk with a circular trimming on the sample, place the
polymer plate in the center of the sample for ignition, and conduct measurement
to evaluate the combustion effect after the flame is extinguished.
