What is the difference between paper and cardboard Burst Strength Tester?
Many customers mistakenly believe that Burst Strength Tester can test paper as well as cardboard, but in fact, it is not. If the burst strength of paper and cardboard are tested directly by one machine, it is easy to produce errors in the testing process, resulting in inaccurate test results. So what is the difference between the two?
1, the implementation of the standard :
G229B Pneumatic Bursting Strength Tester implementation of the national standard GB/T454-2002, corresponding to ISO 2758-2001;
G229P Pneumatic Bursting Strength Tester is the implementation of national standard GB/T1539-2007, corresponding to ISO 2759-2001.

2、Applicable range:
The scope of application of paper breaking resistance: single-layer or multi-layer paper, not applicable to composite materials (such as corrugated cardboard or linerboard);
The scope of application of paperboard breaking resistance: all paperboard (including corrugated board and cardboard).
3, structural differences :
Paper breaking resistance: the upper pressure ring diameter: (30.5 ± 0.1) mm, the lower clamping plate hole diameter (33.1 ± 0.1) mm, the upper clamping plate is small, the lower clamping plate is large;
Cardboard breakage resistance: upper chuck diameter: (31.5±0.5)mm, lower chuck hole diameter (31.5±0.5)mm, the same diameter of upper and lower chuck.
4、Glue film is different:

Paper breaking resistance: the upper surface of the adhesive film is about 3.5mm lower than the top surface of the lower clamp ring. adhesive film material and structure should make the height of the adhesive film protruding from the lower clamp disk and the elastic resistance, i.e.: the resistance range is 30±5kPa when the protruding height is 9±0.2;
Cardboard breakage resistance: the upper surface of the adhesive film is about 5.5mm lower than the top surface of the lower clamp ring. adhesive film material and structure should make the height of the adhesive film protruding from the lower clamp plate compatible with the elastic resistance, i.e.: when the protruding height is 10mm, the resistance range is (170~220)kPa; when the protruding height is 18mm, the resistance range is (250~350)kPa.
5、Technical index difference :
Paper breaking resistance: measuring range 70~1400kPa, oil feeding speed 95±5mL/min;
Paperboard Burst Strength: measuring range 350~5500kPa, oil feeding speed ( 170±15)mL/min.
There are many differences between paper and cardboard Burst Strength Tester in terms of technical parameters. Customers must carefully choose the testing equipment corresponding to their products when choosing Burst Strength Tester.
