Textile Fabric Steam Shrinkage Test Machine measures the percentage shrinkage of the length and width dimensions of knitted fabrics after washing. The factors that affect the size of fabric shrinkage are mainly the water absorption and swelling capacity of the fiber itself, the weaving shrinkage rate and the elongation caused by the tension during the dyeing and finishing process.
The shrinkage rate of the fabric is the percentage of fabric shrinkage after washing or soaking. Shrinkage is a phenomenon in which the length or width of the textile changes in a certain state after washing, dewatering, drying and other processes. The degree of shrinkage involves different kinds of fibers, the structure of the fabric, fabric processing by different external forces and so on.
Like the fiber itself after absorbing water, will produce a certain degree of swelling. Usually the swelling of the fiber is anisotropic (except nylon), that is, the length is shortened and the diameter is increased. Add water to the tank to the required mark (about 45L) and heat the water to make the temperature. Unfold the prepared sample fabric and place it in the water tank (generally 4-6 pieces can be placed each time, depending on the thickness of the fabric). Cover closed insulation, turn on the motor, so that the mixing wheel rotation. Sample cloth with the water wave rotary tumbling, thin fabric continuous stirring 15min, thick fabric continuous stirring 20min, on time to take out the fabric samples.
Will take out the sample, put into the pool gently finishing flat, along the warp folded into four fold, gently pressed by hand to remove the moisture (shall not twist), the sample cloth will be unfolded, spread on the metal net, in the case of no tension, keep the warp and weft to vertical, and then the metal net moved into the temperature of the oven drying. After taking out the sample cloth and cooling it for 30min, measure the distance between warp and weft after the test respectively. When measuring, should try to measure along the yarn direction, can not be skewed. If you find any fold marks on the specimen, you can gently feel the flatness by hand along the direction of the measurement size, but not with excessive force to avoid errors, and then carry out the calculation of the specimen results afterwards.
