TO Fabric Pilling Tester

The TO Fabric Pilling Tester is designed to evaluate pilling resistance of woven and knitted fabrics. Following the B method of JIS L 1076, it simulates fiber ball formation caused by friction, providing an objective assessment of fabric anti-pilling performance. The tester uses a rotating metal drum with internal fan blades to induce controlled pilling on fabric surfaces.
Application
This tester is suitable for:
(1) Assessing the pilling resistance of woven and knitted fabrics;
(2) Simulating wear-induced fiber ball formation;
(3) Comparing fabric surface conditions against reference photographs to evaluate anti-pilling performance;
(4) Quality control in textile and apparel manufacturing.
Standards
The instrument complies with:
(1) JIS L 1076 B Method – Textiles – Test method for pilling of fabrics;
(2) JIS L 1901 – Textile evaluation method for fiber balling/pilling.
Features
Rotating fan blades inside a metal drum simulate consistent friction for pilling evaluation.
Fan speed is digitally displayed and can be precisely adjusted via a variable-speed control.
Timer allows accurate and flexible test duration up to 99 hours 59 minutes.
Compact, safe design with simple operation and reproducible test results.
Ideal for laboratories and production lines to ensure fabric quality and durability.
