How do you use the right martindale abrasion tester?
The Martindale abrasion tester is suitable for testing the abrasion and pilling properties of woven and knitted fabrics, nonwovens, decorative materials and coated fabrics.
Test principle:
1. The circular fabric specimen is rubbed against the standard abrasive under a certain pressure according to the movement of the Lissajous curve, resulting in the breakage of the specimen, and the wear resistance of the fabric is expressed by the number of times the specimen is broken.

2. Round specimens and fabrics of the same material are rubbed against each other under a given pressure with a Lissajous curve, and after a specified number of revolutions, the specimens are assessed for their pilling level.
How do you use the right martindale abrasion tester?
1. Cut a piece of the specimen from the flat part of the sample, or in the case of insoles, to the transfer area.
2. Remove the load and load spindle from the tester.
3、Remove the top flat plate and the test fixture.
4, the specimen device: loosen the fixing ring on the test fixture, take off the specimen press, put the specimen into the base of the test fixture, pad a specimen spacer between the specimen and the base of the test fixture, then place the specimen press on the specimen spacer and fix it with the fixing ring.
5, wool felt and friction cloth device: loosen the fixing screw good fixing ring, put the wool felt on the base and then lay the friction cloth, in the middle of the friction cloth on the pressure plate of 2.5KG, put back the fixing ring and lock the fixing screw.
6, put back the top plate, put the load shaft rod (12KPA), break through the round hole of the top plate.
7. Place the test fixture with the specimen face down on the base fixture and adjust the test fixture circular recess to align with the load shaft so that the load shaft is inserted into the circular recess of the test fixture.
8. Set the number of times according to the standard, start the switch and begin the test, and automatically stop when the set number of times is reached.
You must pay attention to the following matters:
1, the friction cloth can not be used repeatedly, each completed test need to replace a friction cloth.
2, wool felt can be used repeatedly until the surface is worn or has been stained before it needs to be replaced.
3. The insole should be de-clothed before the Martindale abrasion test.
4. If the surface of the sample is abraded, broken, pilling or puckered, or if there is severe wear and tear, the sample will be judged to have failed the test.
